CAP: Conscientious Aid Project

Resources for Charities

In recent years the charity sector has suffered a loss of trust following the failures of several big name NGOs and a new awareness of how charities can have a negative impact on the very people they are trying to help.
Yet non-profit humanitarian aid is more important than ever, especially following the Covid-19 pandemic and cuts to foreign aid budgets.
The Conscientious Aid Project seeks to rethink the aid industry by providing a non-profit platform for investors or founders of existing or start-up charities focusing on sanitation and provision of clean water. We aim to help you to help others, in a way that overcomes existing inequalities and accommodates the culture, diversity and the perspective of those that aid is provided for.

Case Studies

To get an idea of how other organisations are managing sanitary and water aid distribution at the moment or have done in the past we have compiled case studies of 10 different organisations. There are many different approaches which have been taken, some of which take social inequalities into account more than others. By clicking through each of their case studies we hope you can get ideas of  how to make your aid as genuinely beneficial and inclusive as possible.
